Strong Sundays is our once-a-month thing — a new workout, a new spot, and the kind of energy that only happens when you're surrounded by women who are all showing up for themselves at the same time.
In June we’re building strength outside the exercise studio with a guided hike in Cabin John with Better Outside Together. Amy Peters, founder of Shape of Strength will also join us to answer your questions about midlife fitness and nutrition as we hike.
No pressure. Just 90 minutes of self-care designed to build strength and community.
LOCATION | Meet at Locust Grove Nature Center | 7777 Democracy Blvd. | Bethesda, MD 20717
TIME | 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
What you Need to Know: Cabin John has mature forest trees and a creek that runs through most of the trail. The tree cover makes it feels quieter and more tucked away than you'd expect this close to the city.
This hike is for women who want a real workout without it feeling like one. The terrain is mostly forested with some rolling sections and rooted trail, nothing technical but enough to keep you moving and engaged.
What to Expect: The hike runs approximately 3 miles depending on the route we take that day. We'll be out for about 1.5 to 2 hours total. You'll be back to your car with enough time left to do whatever the rest of your day holds.
What to Bring: Water, a small snack, comfortable hiking shoes, bug spray, and layers if it looks like rain.
Who This Is For: Women who want to feel it in their legs when they're done and are comfortable hiking 3 to 4 miles.
